Learning Update
Reminders:
- SCIENCE UNIT TEST for Trees and Forests is on Thursday, November
- Remembrance Day assembly for the whole school is on Friday, November 8. As the performers and presenters for the assembly, grade 5/6 students are asked to wear dark bottoms and a light coloured shirt. Capitol Hill School will also collect donations for poppies to support the Veterans' Fund.
- Lifetouch Picture Orders are due November 6
- Scholastic Book Orders are due November 8
- Students can bring in their own headphones to use with the computers. Make sure it is in a ziplock bag and with the student name clearly labelled.
Science: Unit test is set for Thursday, November 7
Format of the test: will have multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching questions as well as short answer explanation questions (must be answered in sentence form using vocabulary and complete the question prompt).
Language Arts: Students are learning about Remembrance Day and the importance of recognizing the sacrifice made by the men and women throughout numerous wars. They are doing an art piece to show their understanding of the symbols used to commemorate the people and the events of the past. This will help students build their background knowledge and help them make connections with their upcoming novel study.
Social Studies: Students will be completing their work about The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
