Learning Updates
The students did an amazing job at the Remembrance Day assembly last Friday. Thank you to the parents who came out to support your child as they performed in front of the whole school.
Reminders
- November 21-22 will be Parent Teacher Conferences. Booking online will be available soon.
- Picture retakes will be Wednesday, November 13
- Students can bring in their own headphones to use in school. Please ensure your child's name is on the headphones and in a ziplock bag that also has their name on it.
Language Arts: Students are developing their reading stamina and challenging themselves to read novels at their level in the various genres. They have been challenged to read 40 books by the end of June. Students continue to work on developing their paragraph writing through their reading responses each week. They need to have a minimum of one completed a week in class. They will also work on their comprehension of nonfiction reading by reading newspaper articles through Currents4Kids.
Science: The unit test was last week so the results should be made available by the end of the week once everyone has written the test. The test was written online and it will be released for viewing through your child's email account when it has been marked. Students are wrapping up their art projects and finalizing their work from the unit before moving on to our next unit next week.
Social Studies: We will look at the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms through the lens of the Metis people this week to understand more about their culture and history.
