Learning Updates

Reminders:


  • Learning Conferences will be Thursday, November 21 from 4:15-8:00 and Friday, November 22 at 8:00-12:00. Please book online. With many conferences throughout the course of the two days, please ensure you are on time for your booked conference. Knock on the door when it is your conference time so we can keep everyone on time. There will be no school on Friday. 
  • Classroom Librarians are hosting a bookmark contest for the class. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, November 26.

Language Arts: Students continue to develop their reading comprehension skills through independent reading choices and responding to their reading using the appropriate prompt to where they are at in their novel and using non-fiction texts to respond and complete comprehension questions through Currents4Kids.  Written paragraphs are the expectations for student responses to makes sense, provides details to explain and work has been proofread and edited.

Science: Students are moving into the next unit of Classroom Chemistry. They are to have a title page to record their beginning understandings and wonderings for the new unit. This title page is due Wednesday, November 20. Again, a vocabulary page will be provided to help develop the vocabulary and meanings for this new unit.

Social Studies: Students presented their posters and provided an oral explanation of their assigned Metis artifact to develop an understanding of a culture's collective identity.

French: Students are working on basic question and answer for how are you, what is your name, what is the date. They are asking basic questions for their daily routine when getting permission to go to the bathroom, water fountain, backpack.
