A Week of Giving and Sharing

Thank you so much for helping this week! Bring in those socks and toiletries and we will get them sorted to make into a stuffed sock for the Mustard Seed.  Now we need those canned good and food that comes in a bag or a box for our final two challenges. If you have empty boxes laying around, bring those in too so we can build our food hampers to donate to families in our community.

Don't forget to set aside some time to join us on Thursday, December 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 for the Capitol Hill School Winter Celebration. Cash donations and purchases for items can be made throughout the evening. There will be carolling and buskers too. It will definitely be a night to remember. Don't forget to pop by the photobooth and get your family picture taken!

The Giving Tree will be set up for you to take an ornament that will have a gift request on it. Bring in the unwrapped gift by next Tuesday with the ornament tag attached.

ELA/Social Studies: Continuing our novel study, "The Sky is Falling." Please check the link for the chapter recordings if you need to review or catch up on missed chapters. Students needed to add a prediction to determine what "plan" Norah was thinking to do, why and how she would go through with it. They need to add to their vocabulary and definitions list, list characteristics of the main characters, make connections and explain how they connect to the part in the book.

Science: Students are learning about reversible and irreversible changes as well as physical  and chemical changes. As we understand the terms, students will complete a variety of tasks to practice the words with hands on activities.

Report cards will go out on Wednesday, December 18. Please inform the teacher or the office if your child will be absent before the winter break.
