Language Arts: Students are continuing with the class novel study that also corresponds to the outcomes in Social Studies. Ask your child to give you a summary of what they have read so far from, "The Sky is Falling." There is an oral recording posted on in the ELA link on this blog. Students record events, connections, predictions, vocabulary and character ideas in their visual journals that they maintain as they read. They are working on daily reading and writing skills that include writing a reading response, making words in "Boggle", reading and responding to news articles using "Currents4Kids", and reading independently to add completed novels to their 40 book challenge.

Science: Students are conducting experiments to understand key concepts around mixtures and solutions. They are also expected to understand and demonstrate the scientific process. They will continue to learn concepts and vocabulary for the unit through demonstrations, experiments, and videos.
