Learning Update for the Week of January 27-31

Reminders:

  • Friday, January 31 is a Non-Instructional Day so there will not be classes for students
  • Artist in Residency fee and notice went home last week. Please submit artist fees online or pay at the office. Please detach and return the bottom section of the yellow form.
  • Literacy Week activities are in full swing. Remember to dress as a literary character on Thursday!
  • Science Unit test from last week has been marked and released to students through their google mail account. 
  • Grade 7 Junior High orientations for both Branton and Senator Patrick Burns is February 6
  • Exhibition SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday, February 26 from 6:00-8:00

ELA- Students are working on developing their narrative story writing process. They are working on organizing the main parts of a story using a story plan while using various picture books to determine characters, setting, problem/challenge, story events, climax, solution and ending.

Science-Students recorded their marks from the Classroom Chemistry test in their notebooks and a copy of the test has been released to their Google mail account. They will begin their next unit in Sky Science. New unit title pages due Wednesday, January 29

Social Studies/ELA/Exhibition- Students are working with the artist, Kris Demeanor to tell the story of Canadians who have made an impact in our lives today. This work is also connected with the novel study, "The Sky is Falling"
