Last Week of September

Wow, what a month it was! I want to thank you parents for ensuring the health and safety of your children and that of our class by diligently following the daily health checklist and not sending your child to school if they are unwell. I have posted images with some explanations of some of the work we are doing in GOOGLE CLASSROOM so your child does not feel like they are falling behind too much. Much of the work can be done on lined paper and then added to their duotangs when they return.

Last week I was so grateful to talk/meet/see so many of you during the parent-teacher conferences. You provided me so much informatio about your child and I look forward to working together as a team to help your child be successful in grade 5/6.

Today, students at school logged into their Mathletics account for this year to practice math online from school or at home to improve their skills and understanding. Students who missed getting their "account card" can come see me to get it. If your child is away the rest of the week, let me know and I can send the information through your child's GMAIL account.

Each week, students will have a BOGGLE challenge to build words and ultimately try to solve the 9 letter puzzle. It is a great way to study words, build vocabulary, and look at word patterns by providing everyone an entry point. The minimum is to build a list of 30 words. Many students have more than doubled or tripled that expectation in the first two weeks of introducting this activity.
