Orange Shirt Day
A reminder for students to wear their orange on Thursday. The whole school will gather to honour and show respect for the indigenous children who were sent to residential schools. Every class will have a sit spot at the end of the day to continue to be part of the reconcilliation process. Here is a link to learn more about the survivors and the work for a better understanding of the indigenous culture.
We have spent the past week understanding the life one child had before being sent away from his family for over four years. We will continue to learn more about the culture and make connections to our own lives to help us learn from the past.
A REMINDER:
No School on Friday, September 30--National Day for Truth and Reconcilliation
