A Busy October Indeed!

Where has October gone? We have been very fortunate to have the amazing weather recently. With the quick change in temperatures in the coming days, please ensure your child is dressed for these changes.

A few things happening around our school community for you to take part in:

  • Friday, October 21,  between 12:30-1:00pm, students and families can pick up a pumpkin for a donation to the school. Last year this raised $800 that went to math resources.
  • Thursday, October 27, CHS Halloween Family Dance from 6:00-8:00. Check out the poster below for more information.
  • Monday, October 31, Halloween Day-students may dress up (no blood, gore--more information will be coming, in the end, all costumes and accessories must be appropriate for school and children). We will not be having a party but we will do some activities to celebrate the day like we do for many special days in the year.
  • Thursday, November 10 is the Remembrance Day Assembly that the Grades 5 and 6 students are preparing for. Parents are welcome to attend the ceremony. Watch for the times posted in Ms. Wright's weekly updates!
  • November 4-18 is Alien In-line Skating. Students are encouraged to bring in their own helmets. All other equipment is provided. We are looking for parents to assist with putting on all the safety gear and skates. If any parent is able to assist on any of our skating times, please email Mrs. Moore (anmoore@cbe.ab.ca).  Room 2 is scheduled to skate on:
    • Monday, November 7 at 10:45-11:43
    • Thursday, November 10 at 1:55-2:55
    • Wednesday, November 16 at 10:45-11:43
