End of November, Already??
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on this week starting Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. They will be online, as reported in the school's peek at the week. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's work so far and how to help them make further progress before the end of the first term's reporting period in late January.
Students in Room 2 are working on:
Math: Operations using estimation and different calculating strategies. They will also be applying them to word problems.
Science: Wrapping up the Weather unit and introducing our new unit on Electricity and Magnetism. Students will be receiving their unit test marks by the end of the week.
Social Studies: Students are working on researching using reliable resources, working in groups, and preparing materials for an oral presentation for a specific phyiscal region of Canada assigned to them. This project is due December 16, with presentations to follow.
ELA: Students continue to work on their writing and revision skills to incorporate the COPS strategy to fix their written work. They have also been working on a whole class novel study, "Hana's Suitcase"and recording their comprehension in their visual journals.
A BIG thank you to the parents of room 2 for giving us your time to volunteer during our inline skating days! The students loved their lessons from Mr. Shawn and their "extra" skate last Friday. Thank you to Ms. Kelly who was available to help us on all of our days!!!
