February Snowfall Warning
Well, the warm temperatures coulnd't last, it is Calgary after all! We had a big dumping of snow over the long weekend and temperatures will drop for most of the week. Please make sure you child is dressed for the weather of the day. Students take care of themselves by making sure they are dressed and prepared for the changing weather.
. Thank you to all of the parents and families that came to our Grade 5 Celebration of Learning last Wednesday. The students were so proud to show you and talk about their work in social studies. There will be even more to see and do for all of the other core subjects when you return for Parent-Teacher conferences on March 9 and 10.
Tuesday, February 22 is PINK SHIRT DAY!! We will attend a morning assembly in the gym put on by our Kindergartn-Grade 1 friends. We encourage everyone to wear something pink for the day.
Class Elections are approaching. Here are the important dates:
- Nominations for candidates to be class councillor for Area 1 or 2, and the class mayor begins now and are due Thursday, February 23
- Campaigning begins Friday, February 24- (maximum of 5 posters, post posters in the classroom, prepare speech and ideas, share ideas with classmates)
- Candidate Speeches on Thursday, March 2
- Election Day on Friday, March 3
Our Grade 5 Skiing Trip to Winsport is approaching. Forms are going home with students on February 21 and are due back to the classroom by Friday, March 3. Please make sure all parts of the forms are fully completed. The first page of the document is information for you to keep, the other forms are what I need back. We are still looking for parent volunteers for our days at Winsport. Please contact me OR SIGN UP ONLINE as soon as possible to volunteer!
