More April Happenings
To our many classmates celebrating the end of their holy month, Happy Eid!
Thank you parents for keeping me updated with information regarding your child by sending an email or leaving a message with the office for me. Most of the time, your child is able to relay the message but it is always good to have a written or spoken confirmation with the parent/guardian.
In Science, we are working on developing good questions to help design tests for our Classroom Chemistry unit. Don't worry, we will not be working with anything flammable or any dangerous chemicals! We have been reviewing safety and respectful behaviour when conducting experiments so they are getting excited to learn about atoms, molecules, and so much more.
For Math, students will be competing in the MRU Math Contest on April 26. Don't forget to check out their MRU Sample Tests from previous years to get a feel for the types of questions that could be asked or the style of the contest that the students will participate in! Looking forward to seeing what the students at CHS can do with their math skills!
Social Studies has been a wonderful week of my quick rendition of the history of Early Canada that led the students in room 2 to help fill in the details through research. They are working on group skills, delegating responsibility, reading and organizing appropriate information, while sharing information with their group and classmates. Make sure to ask them about what or who they have been researching about! This is another integrated unit for ELA and Art.
