The Final Month of School

Guaranteed, this will be a fast month, filled with lots of activities to keep organized until the very end.

Students are asked to find a rock or two, or a few, and bring in to get painted for our plans to rejuvenate the one large flower garden near the windows of Room 2. We want to plant some orange coloured marigolds surrounded by warm words and images on orange rocks. The class council, Room 2 and our reading buddies will be cleaning up the weeds and grasses so this beautification can be highlighted for years to come. It is our small gesture to help with Canada's reconcilliation process.  All of this will happen before and just after Friday's activity morning, so come and help us out if you are still around! Students can bring in their own gloves or can use the shared gloves we have for gradenting.

Thank you to the parents who are volunteering to help on Friday for the Indigenous Activity Day. Make sure students are dressed for the weather and garden work. So no new outfits on this day!

Another community walk is planned for Monday, June 19 to do a field study of the duck pond area of Confederation Park.  Another note will be going home by the middle of the week. I am just giving a heads up, looking for some adults to come along. We plan to leave the school at 8:45 and return after having lunch in the park so we can be back by 12:00.  Please let me know if you can join us for this field study!

Report cards are being worked on for the final term and they will be ready to go online for the June 28. Clean up of classrooms and personal belongings need to be done in the upcoming weeks. If your child will be away before the final day of school, Thursday, June 29, please make arrangements to have all personal belongings picked up before they are gone for the summer.
