Weekly Update-November 22
Thank you to everyone who has already booked a time to meet with me regarding your child's learning. I see there are a few missing families from the list. Please sign up for you child's learning conferences through the link provided. If you are unable to attend these learning conference times, please contact me to set up an alternate time to meet in the upcoming week. Students are encouraged to attend this meeting to speak to the work and be part of the partnership for their learning. Reminder, there will be no school on Friday to make time for these conferences.
Math: Students used the strategies of base 10, Area Method, and Lattice Method to find efficient ways to multiply 2 by 2 digits, 3 by 1 digits and 3 by 2 digit numbers. It is important to practice and reveiw basic multiplication facts to help with this next level of math. Reviewing math throughout the week will help build the skills and confidence needed for upcoming units.
English Language Arts: Students are working on the visualizing part of their Reading Power Brain. We use mentor texts to help guide our work and provide the practice to listen or read for information to build a picture in our mind to facilitate understanding. It is encouraged students read at least 30 minutes a day to build fluency and vocabulary..
REMEMBER:
Sign up for parent teacher conferences that will be on November 23 and 24. No School on Friday, November 24
We are looking for parent volunteers for the February 2024 skiing trip. Sign up online if you have a current volunteer police check and clearance. We need six other adults for each of the three days to make the trip possible.
