Earth Day in Room 2-April 22

Tuesday, April 22 our class is celebrating Earth Day by wearing green, blue, and brown! We have many challenges to meet throughout the day to help make a difference in making our place better!  Make sure to choose 2 items from your recycle bin (clean!!!) so you can help with the design challenge. Pack your reusable water bottle and a garbage free lunch (think, reusable containers, utensils, etc.).

Earn 250 points and we can celebrate our achievement on Friday!

We managed to collect 5 bags of garbage from the field and the front garden area.

Poems were recited by A, A, and S for the Earth

Students were randomly put into teams to create a toy made from recycled materials.

All of these challenges had a different point awarded. The goals was to reach 250, were they going to make the goal? It was a busy day of learning with our Earth Day challenges interspersed throughout the day. It looked questionable in the morning when many of the students arrived without their recycled materials but thankfully we had D and S bring in a few extras and they were kind enough to share their extras with the other groups for the design challenge at the end of the day. We were also grateful for a somewhat sunny day as we do not get much light on the west side of the building so it made our day without lights a little more challenging. Hopefully the day spent being more conscious of taking care of our place will spark everyone  to do their part each and every day, not just on Earth Day.

Congratulations to room 2 for achieving 460 points!
